Join my one-month program of weekly interconnected live sessions for producing electronic music, with assignments geared towards leveling-up your sound and finishing tracks. Enrollment comes with lifetime access to classroom recordings, class content, a discord community, plus bonus content, samples, and presets to keep you inspired year-round!
Encanti’s classroom will provide the tools and tricks you need to develop basic ideas into fully-realized track productions, by employing creative strategies that celebrate your unique artistic voice while encouraging rich experimentation and depth in sound engineering. This one-month course will teach professional mixing, sound design, and music writing as pillars of a united production workflow, with lessons that are designed to make a direct and immediate impact on your music.

The course will come with a selection of free samples/presets, assessments of your work by Encanti, and an interactive dropbox so you can directly receive and exchange material while it is being created. We will be using Ableton Live, but most of the material will be translatable across any DAW.
Between sessions there will also be opportunities for collaboration, releasing your music, and further learning resources within EMA’s discord community.
***What to expect:***
In the Sophomore session, topics begin to overlap: Where do we find our artistic voice at the crossroads of sound design and composition? Where does mixing overlap with our sound design, and how might we design our sound aesthetic around our mix, and visa versa? How might we simplify our process in ways that can add complexity in our music? In this session, we boldly approach these questions through creative practice.

Here is the planned syllabus, designed to be a continuation of your current classroom:
Week 1 – Sound Design and Composition: Sound Design for Track Development
Week 2 – Composing with Texture: Turning Sound into Music and Music into Sound
Week 3 – Sound Design and Mixing: Advanced Drums Design and Sound Layering
Week 4 – Advanced Mixing Focus: Aesthetic Approaches to Dynamics and Loudness
The Junior Classroom topics include advanced music synthesis, with more aleatoric technique and complex synthesizer programming, granular synthesis, and neural synthesis. We approach the fundamentals of working with large multi-samplers and recordings to achieve professional cinematic sound design. The class comes with bonus classes, live mastering, and special devices for Max and Max for Live.

In Thesis Praxis, you’ll collaborate on a track with your peers and instructor, exploring cutting-edge sound design techniques, including Temporal Modulation and AI-enhanced sound creation. Concurrently, you’ll develop an independent piece, leveraging the skills honed in class for a truly original composition. This dual-track approach ensures a comprehensive application of arranging, sound design, and mixing skills, fostering both collaborative and solo creative development.
Membership in Thesis Prima includes access to exclusive resources: unreleased max patches, sophisticated sound design tools, and a supportive community on our dedicated Discord channel. You’ll engage in live, interactive classes where your creative contributions shape the course content of the course, with extended sessions allowing deeper dives into DAW-led production.

Ben Cantil, aka Encanti, is a prominent figure in electronic music and education, notably as the sole music producer for Zebbler Encanti Experience (ZEE). Renowned for blending bass music and psy-trance, he has collaborated in the studio with artists like Mr. Bill, on the stage with Shpongle, while touring globally with ZEE. As a PhD candidate with a Masters cum Laude in sound design, and co-founder of AI-powered plugin company DataMind Audio, he is a pioneer of cutting-edge sound design technology. Drawing upon a decade of experience as a scholar of electronic music production, Encanti founded the Encanti Music Academy, offering unique courses informed by his diverse experiences.
